About Heliopolis Center for the Arts
The Heliopolis Center for the Arts is a Calgary-based nonprofit dedicated to creating space for artistic exploration, collaboration, and cultural dialogue.
The Center brings together artists from different disciplines and cultural traditions to share ideas, experiment with new forms of expression, and engage with the community.
Based in Downtown Calgary, the Center contributes to the city’s growing arts and culture landscape by connecting artists, audiences, and cultural organizations.
Heliopolis aims to serve as a meeting point where creative ideas, communities, and artistic traditions can come together.

Our Story
The Center grew out of conversations with artists and audiences who expressed a desire for spaces where artistic practices could meet more freely.
Many artists work within separate cultural or disciplinary circles. Heliopolis was created to open a space where these worlds can intersect — where music, visual arts, storytelling, and performance can inspire one another through collaboration and experimentation.
Our Approach
Heliopolis focuses on creating opportunities for artists to meet, exchange ideas, and develop new collaborations.
Through open gatherings, interdisciplinary programming, and partnerships with cultural organizations, the Center supports artistic dialogue and encourages creative exploration.
